The Company was Shortlisted for Four Major Global Carrier Awards to be announced during the Conference

London, UK and Paris, France – November 2, 2015 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of Fortune Global 500 telecom leader NTT (NYSE: NTT), today announced its participation at the Capacity Europe 2015 Conference taking place in Paris, France, November 2-4, 2015.

NTT Com is an Associate Sponsor of the event and a Global IP Network executive will take part in a panel focused on the evolution of the wholesale IP market. Attendees can also connect with NTT Com during the company-sponsored Monday evening reception and at the exhibition stand during networking hours.

Capacity Europe is a key event for the European and global telecom community, providing a platform for leading global players such as NTT Com to share their insights on the wholesale IP transit and services markets.

Michael Wheeler, executive vice president of NTT Communications Global IP Network at NTT America, will join fellow industry leaders on the panel discussion “Up into the Cloud: The Next Step in Service Evolution for the Wholesale Carrier” on Tuesday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. local time. The panel will discuss challenges and opportunities in the cloud ecosystem and how cloud-based services fit in the wholesale carrier’s solutions portfolio.

NTT Com is in a unique position to address global trends in the IP transit market as the company remains one of the top two global wholesale IP providers, according to the latest Dyn Wholesale Rankings. The company ranks sixth in Europe and is well positioned to gain more ground due to strong customer growth and network expansion. NTT Com is the only provider to command a top-six ranking in the four strategically crucial markets of Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.

“Europe remains an important piece to NTT Com’s global strategy and continues to be a dynamic growth market of its own,” said Clive Hamilton, Vice President of Network Services at NTT Europe. “We continue to invest substantially and expand in the European market with the aim of providing our customers more global connectivity options and world-class products and services,” Mr. Hamilton added.

NTT Com announced today the expansion of its Global IP Network with a new point-of-presence (PoP) in Marseille, France. The city is the interconnection point for several international subsea cables that link Europe to Africa, the Middle East and Asia. NTT Com’s new PoP in Marseille will facilitate the delivery of reliable, high-quality wholesale IP services between these high-growth markets and Europe.

In addition to running one of the world’s top-ranked global tier-1 IP backbones, NTT Com offers a state-of-the-art DDoS Protection Service that enables Internet service providers (ISP), network operators, communications companies and Internet-centric businesses to deliver leading-edge network capabilities while keeping online assets secure from sophisticated cyber threats. As DDoS attacks become more frequent and complex, NTT Com offers the technology, experience and flexibility that companies need to design and implement a comprehensive defense strategy. Being offline, even for a few minutes, could represent for many providers thousands and even millions of euros in lost revenues, and it is imperative that companies understand how to respond to attacks immediately and have a reliable partner to work with.

NTT Com was shortlisted for several Capacity Global Carrier Awards, including Best Global (Data), Best Pan-European, Best Asian and Best North American Wholesale Carrier. The Global Carrier Awards recognize innovation, vision and excellence in the global wholesale industry. The winners will be announced at Capacity Europe 2015 on November 3, 2015 in Paris.
